Anastasia Mooney was born in Moscow. She started studying classical piano at the age of seven. She used to write pop songs and some of them were professionally acclaimed.
Her love for classical music won out in the end and at the age of 16 she went to music college to study piano and music theory. In her first year she won second place at the International Ensemble Competition. She started teaching piano while still at college and was offered a place in the highly prestigious Music School at ‘Gnesins’ College straight after her graduation. She worked there as well as playing in a Jazz band and as an accompanist in theatres until 2006 when she moved to London. Since then she’s been giving private piano and music theory lessons. She works both with children and adults , teaching all levels from beginners to advanced and tailors her classes to focus on classical, jazz or pop, depending on the students preferences.
