Natalie Cavey started learning the violin at the age of 6 before being awarded a Music Scholarship to Wells Cathedral School, studying violin, viola and piano (having passed Grade 8 on all instruments with Distinction). She then won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music on viola, where she achieved a BMus (Hons) degree and also becoming a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM). She was also awarded with an ABRSM Diploma on viola and violin with distinctions.
Natalie is a past recurring member of The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, The National Children’s Orchestra, Wells Cathedral School Symphony Orchestra and Pro Corda. She regularly plays in chamber ensembles around the country and does many studio recordings (both classical and pop).
As well as being a freelance musician, Natalie teaches violin, viola and piano, currently teaching in schools and privately to pupils of all abilities. She is very passionate about teaching and is keen to inspire pupils of all levels. She is an enthusiastic and highly motivating teacher, and one who believes that making-music should also be fun!
