Leo Havkin is a qualified recording and mixing engineer with industry experience gained in some of the best recording studios in London. After graduating from SAE London and completing a Pro Tools Operator course at Alchemea, Leo started working at several recording studios making his way up from being an assistant to an in- house engineer. He has been assisting and engineering for high profile artists and producers for over seven years and learning from the best in the business. In addition, he has been teaching Music Technology in several colleges and schools across London in the past few years. The subjects Leo teaches include: advanced recording and miking techniques, mixing and mastering, editing, producing and arranging music, software such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, processing tools such as EQ and compressors and a lot more.
Leo is also a professional guitarist with many years of experience playing live as well as being a session player. In the last 12 years he has played at hundreds of gigs, festivals, corporate events and has been involved in many productions as a session guitarist. He has been successfully teaching guitar for over eight years, one-to-one lessons and also groups. Leo teaches electric, acoustic and classical guitar. The lessons are tailored to every individual student’s needs, interests, age, level and style.
Subjects taught: rhythm and lead guitar techniques, strumming, finger picking, music theory, tabs and notation, sound and effects (for electric) and more… Styles: Rock, Classic Rock, Indie, Blues, Pop, Acoustic/ Folk, Jazz and others.
