Laoise Davidson is an experienced Jazz vocalist, performing with several bands as well as a singer / songwriter. She grew up performing Jazz standards with her father and musical family and
has since performed all over the world. She has studied with top Jazz artists including Liane Carroll, Laura Zakian and Pepi Lemer as well as classical artist Ruti Halvani and has attended Jazz vocal courses at Guildhall School of Music.
Laoise has a strong technical background but likes to make learning fun. With over 12 years music and song teaching experience Laoise has taught jazz and folk vocals in private classes as well as to groups of up to 30 students. She enjoys helping singers of all backgrounds, ages and levels of experience improve their singing voice and to build their repertoire in any style. Lessons are relaxed and varied with a focus on developing the ear and pitching notes accurately. Laoise wants to help you discover your own vocal sound, augment your range and your ability to project. She will also help you interpret songs, finding ways to dig beneath the surface of a song and give a stunning performance.
As a jazz and folk singer, Laoise has performed in many wonderful venues including Londonís City Hall, the Jazz CafÈ in Camden and St Georgeís Hall in Liverpool. She currently performs with her Jazz and Swing band “Zing” as well as a solo performer collaborating with musicians and singers from a wide range of musical backgrounds. She has performed with a number of bands including Yallah – a multi-cultural Hip-Hop/Folk band, GhettoPlotz – a House Music collective, several Klezmer bands including Shekoyokh and Nomadica, and Irish Traditional Bands in Northern Ireland. She has performed in Ireland, France, Germany, South Africa, Canada and America. Laoise also plays piano, mandolin, violin and tenor banjo.
