Kasem Chouja has been teaching drums since June 1997, during which time he has developed a teaching manual based around drum rudiments, or the building blocks of drumming. Originally from Sydney Australia, Kasem has played with various groups, doing session work and functions that cover all contemporary styles: jazz, rock, hi-hop, blues, reggae… His qualifications include a MA, and a teaching degree which further attests to his passion for both drumming and education.
The lessons are based around the student’s ability from which a personalised program is developed for each particular student. Though not necessary, students are invited to take either Trinity or Rock School exams. All enquiries are welcome from beginner, to the experienced to learn drumming (including, reading drum charts, rudiments, contemporary styles, stick control and metronomic timing). Feel free to start drum lessons at my home or yours.
