Jonathan Mynette is a session drummer and tutor based in West London. He has been drumming for 13 years and has now completed four years of study at Tech Music School (formerly Drumtech), where he achieved a One Year Diploma and a Bmus Popular Music Performance degree. Jonathan has always been involved in many varying projects ranging from heavy blues to rockabilly, playing all over the country. Currently Jonathan is playing with My Youth, an indie/folk outfit, The Joys Of Paranoia, a punky grunge project that has been commissioned to record music for Sky TV series ‘Walking and Talking’ by Kathy Burke and he also leads his own jazz/funk collective called The Stylus.
Along with the original projects Jonathan also regularly plays in function bands playing anything from rock and roll to jazz. Jonathan tailors his tuition to suit each individual student, focusing on certain things that both student and teacher feel necessary, with technique, coordination, reading, styles and musicianship all aspects covered extensively. He also offers the chance to record each lesson and provides a free copy of the recording for the student, giving them a chance to listen back to what has been taught.
