Gianni Boscarino is an Italian pianist and composer based in London. He has been playing for twenty years and working as a professional musician since 2001.
He first started studying the classical piano at the age of 10. After a few years he developed an interest in rock, funk, blues, pop and eventually decided to specialise in jazz. He moved to London in 2004 and did his BA in jazz music at Middlesex University followed by a MMUS in jazz performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. This gave him a chance to develop his original melodic/rhythmic approach under the guidance of Gareth Williams, Pete Churchill and Nikki Iles. He was also studying composition and arranging with Scott Strowman.
Leading his own band ‘Gianni quartet’ and playing with the Tim Collinson quartet he had the chance to play in numerous venues and jazz festivals across Britain, including ‘Swindon’, ‘Swanage’ and ‘Corsham’ (where he supported the ‘Stan tracy trio’). With Tim Gianni recorded the album ‘Magic Numbers’ released in 2007 on 33 Records. Along his performance career Gianni has been teaching piano, composition and song-writing for many years. All ages and levels are welcome.
