George Anderson bass player with the legendary Shakatak , has been at the forefront of the british jazz/funk and soul movement since the 80’s having played on world wide hits ‘Nightbirds’, ‘Invitations’, ‘Easier Said Than Done’, ‘Down On The Street’ and ‘Day by Day’. During his time with the band, he has played and collaborated on songs which featured stars like Al Jarreau , Ronnie Laws and Lonnie Liston Smith. He continues to tour and record albums with Shakatak and in 2010 released his solo c/d called ‘Positivity’ featuring the song ‘Lay ur hands on me’ which was a Jazz fm’ ‘record of the week’ . His ‘groove’ influenced style can be heard on Shakatak’s recordings ranging in style from pop, funk, through to jazz. George is offering bass tuition for all ages, levels and styles ( jazz, latin-jazz, funk, blues, pop, rock and many more); the classes are tailored according to the individual’s ability with a strong emphasis on letting the music speak .
