Elliot Murphy is an Irish musician and composer living and working in East London. He completed his BA in Music from Trinity College Dublin with a first class honours in Composition and has been teaching cello and guitar for over six years in both the UK and Ireland. He is a passionate and dedicated teacher who takes student’s specific interests and needs into consideration when developing their lesson plans. Whether they intend to prepare for ABRSM examinations or just want to learn an instrument as a hobby lessons are tailored for students to get the most out of each individual session but also to see gradual improvement and musical development over time. As well as being experienced in preparing students for examinations he is a strong advocator of improvisation and ear training (using the Kodaly method) as a means of developing musicianship and overall musicality. This type of training is essential for all students and has been shown time and time again to be invaluable as a means of musical development both in terms of sight reading and sound production as well.
