Edward Hallinan graduated with a first class degree from the Royal College of Music in 2011. He is now a freelancing professional musician who has been teaching brass instruments for 5 years. Professionally, he has played with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra and has also gained valuable teaching and outreach experience with both their BBC Symphony Orchestra’s education departments.
Over the last five years, Edward has built up considerable experience working with children aged 3-16 via one-to-one teaching and also workshops in schools. He has/is also taught/teaching mature students. Specific elements of his degree course were tailored to enhance the professional skills of a teacher and outreach leader (Professional Skills: Outreach and Art of Teaching) Edward has achieved a First classification in each of these modules. With Grade 8 theory, he is also able to prepare pupils for theory exams.
Edward is an enthusiastic tutor and can mould his lessons to suit any pupils whether they be younger/older, experienced/beginners or are serious/play for fun. Edward believes that everyone CAN play music and that it should be enjoyed!
