Edouard A Wood is a widely experienced Londoner violinist. Having started his musical journey as a chorister with the Metropolitan Cathedral Choir he was inspired to play the violin at the age of 6 after hearing the Merseyside Youth Orchestra playing Holst’s ‘The Planets’. In 1999 he entered Trinity College of Music as an undergraduate completing his studies seven years later with both graduate and post graduate diplomas in violin performance under the tutelage of Hu Kun. He was honoured by being given two scholarships to study chamber music with the Brodsky and Smith quartets and has toured Great Britain, Jersey and Northern France as the first violin of the Marcucci String Quartet and tutored and performed as chamber music coach at the Dartington International Summer School and the Bath Guitar Festival. He has played with professional and amateur orchestras including the YMSO, participating on a tour of Greece with Sir Yehudi Menuhin, British Youth Opera Orchestra, Concilium and Opera of the South on their tours of Great Britain. Edouard has played in many big venues such as Wembley Arena, Barbican, Royal Festival Hall, Fairfield Hall Croydon, Royal Albert Hall, and Covent Garden amongst others. Session work, concerts tours and recording have included bands such as Tindersticks, Boys Own, Ace of base, Nick Cave, Kylie Minogue and Jamiroquai to name a few.
