Dafydd Jones has well over twenty years experience as a professional player and teacher. As a teacher he uses a patient and friendly approach and aims to make the lessons a fun experience whilst still focusing on making progress and achieving results tailored to suit the individual.
All styles and abilities are catered for, beginners to advanced welcome, and experience in special needs tuition.
As a peripatetic tutor, he can come to you and the lessons can be conducted in the comfort of your own home if you wish.
He has a current private client list from 7 years of age upwards, with differing levels of ability, many of whom focus on obtaining their grades and some of his past students have gone on to further their music careers at such notable institutions as the Guildhall college of music.
With previous experience of tutoring special needs pupils, Dafydd has also taught at some of the local music shops and also spent a period of time as a cycling proficiency instructor at junior schools.
As a session drummer he’s played on the Heather Small album “Close to a miracle”, and played on recordings by Steve Balsamo (The Storys) and Grace Kennedy. He’s also worked on the film soundtrack of “Angus, thongs & perfect snogging” and recorded at London’s famous Abbey Road and Angel Recording Studios.
