Anthony Hippsley is an accomplished professional bassist, guitarist, musical director, manager and teacher. He has been playing professionally since the age of 19 when he toured for two years, recording, showcasing, producing and working under ex Pink Floyd manager Barry Murray. After that he studied music for three years, once finishing his studies he embarked on many different session projects including original soul, funk, jazz and rock projects, recording sessions in studio’s such as Jacobs studio and Britannia rows and playing for bands and venues all over the UK. In the last 8 years of being a musician and teacher he has had the pleasure of touring with various artists all over the UK, toured part of the east coast of America and played all over Europe including countries such as Switzerland, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He has been involved in different theatre production’s including a Michael Jackson tribute show and has had the pleasure of playing for and co-managing a very busy function band who play most weekends of the year! He is happy to teach and demonstrate most styles such as; Rock, pop, soul, jazz, mo-town, blues, country, latin, neo-soul, funk, reggae and metal. In his time he has also worked full-time as ‘Head of department’ in a midlands based music academy. In this time he has had teacher training, taught classes to a higher diploma level, delivered lectures in music theory,styles and technique, created class material, been part of a core team of staff responsible for the overseeing of courses, the academies various concerts and events and leading the yearly fund raising events, taught students one on one of all ages, ranging from 10 to 40 years old. He prides himself on doing a thorough and excellent job of every lesson, session, tour and opportunity he gets. His hard working,pioneering and diligent attitude towards music and buisness has seen him pioneer new and innovative projects for the music academy, the county council music service, manage bands, teach and run a department of students and pioneer and run music workshops for students all over the warwickshire area. His attitude towards each student is that each one requires lessons tailored to them, inspiring them and encouraging them to enjoy music whilst seeking to achieve real goals. He aim’s for a healthy balance that sees the students musicality, instrument ability and overall understanding of music grow and develop.
