Ana Vranes started to play cello at the age of 7, and piano when she was 10. 1996 she graduated from the instrumental department violoncello at Musical School “Mokranjac”, and was cellist at the
Youth Philharmonic orchestra. She went to study Music Culture , and in 2003 got a degree in Music Culture at University of Rijeka, Croatia. During her studies, Ana was working as a cellist for the Istria National Orchestra. She was aslo singing at University choir and performed in various concerts, operas and theatre plays. From 2001-2004 Ana was working alongside composer B.Shehu as organiser of “Histria” music festival in Croatia, focused mainly on classical music and ballets. She was also involved in several theatre plays (Anno Domini, Faust and Pulisseus) as a composer and player.
One of the things she most enjoyed was being a member and arranger of Pula Cello Octet for several years.
Since Ana moved to London, she has been playing as a freelance cellist with orchestras and quartets in London, but also enjoys playing with jazz, folk and rock bands. Ana is currently teaching privately, as well as at the Da Capo Music Foundation.
