Amanda Murphy is a professional singer/songwriter/performer and experienced music educator. Originally from Ireland Amanda relocated to London to further her studies in Popular Music Performance and has been awarded a PGdip and BMus (Hons) with The University of West London. She has years of experience performing within the U.K. and worldwide. Amanda performs throughout London on a regular basis as a solo artist and with a full band and has performed in venues such as O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and O2 Islington.
In the past year she was employed as the lead vocalist for a major cruise-line, a music educator within a primary school and only recently she performed at the Cork Guinness Jazz Festival with her full band for several different shows. For a number of years Amanda has worked as a vocal coach teaching student’s basic vocal skills right through to advanced levels of instrumentation. Working in many different styles and genres allows students to find where their own passion lies within music. This is something which she always takes into account when teaching and Amanda always aims to tailor her lessons to fit the needs of my students. Through continuous and repeated exercises and differentiated routines, which she employs within lessons, pupils are not only able to develop and succeed but are also encouraged to engage in and reflect upon their own development. This is very important skill to acquire and can be related to any area of learning. ”As a teacher I aim to inspire and encourage students to their full ability and help them to progress to reach their personal goals. I am eager to further my career as a teacher as I find work within this sector highly rewarding and truly satisfying.”
