Freya Spence completed her Masters in Clarinet at the Manhattan School of Music studying with Charles Neidich, and gained her Bachelor of Music Performance Degree at the Royal College of Music. Freya is the Clarinet prize winner of the Yamaha Young Performing Artist USA 2019, also a prize winner of the Vandoren Emerging Young Artist Competition USA that same year.
Freya has previously given solo performances in other renowned venues such as Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. Trinity Church, Wall Street NYC, Emens Auditorium, Indiana and in London : Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Portrait Gallery and the Duke’s Hall. Freya has taught clarinet and guitar in schools and given private lessons to all ages and abilities, for over 5 years across London. She refines all aspects of playing, focusing on technique and musicality. Freya engages her students with her enthusiasm and deep knowledge of the instruments, progressing each individual to their aspired goals.
