Very much in demand as an educator, Maya Szaloki is an award-winning soloist, chamber musician and orchestral viola player. Born in Hungary, she studied at the Weiner Leo Music Conservatoire and the University of Szeged where she was awarded a Bachelor of Music in Performance with distinction. She subsequently was offered a place at the London College of Music, University of West London, to study for a Masters degree in Music Performance where now she is waiting for her final results. She has performed in many different orchestras including the Symphony Orchestra of Szeged, BM Duna Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Tatabanya, Collaborative Orchestra, I Maestri Orchestra, Arcadia Mundi Orchestra, Collaborative Orchestra, London City Philharmonic, Notting Hill Orchestra and Choir for Film Music. Maya is also a founding member of the Konvalia Quartet and the Duetta. Collaborating with some of the foremost musicians of her generation, she has recorded for Tally Koren, Kat May, BK Pepper, Becky Payne, Guy Harries and BIMM Tech Music School. Maya currently teaches violin, viola, music theory and piano. She has performed at some of London’s prime music venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Kings Place, Lauderdale House, QEII Conference Centre Houses of Parliament, St John’s Smith Square, St Pancras Old Church, Cadogan Hall, Jazz Cafe POSK, Ealing Jazz Festival.
