David Dyson is a drummer and percussionist who recently graduated from Trinity College of Music with a Master’s degree in Jazz. Prior to this he studied Music at Durham University where he gained a First Class Honours degree and was awarded the Highest Achiever in the Arts and Humanities Faculty. Teachers have included Donovan Hepburn (Take That, Jessie J, Adele), Dave Hassell and Dave Wickens. Experience includes National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), The Bounce Trio, Venice Under Water (recently toured O2 Academies), Reg Vardy Brass Band, The Graff Orchestra of England and York Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore, in 2011 he received a Composition Commission from the Stockholm Symphony Orchestra. He endorses Sonor drums and has been awarded bursaries from trusts such as EMI and the BBC. David has a passion for teaching and has a successful record of students passing graded examinations. He can draw on a wide range of styles and influences to deliver fun and authoritative lessons.
